Trimspa diet pills

The name Trimspa can invoke many images. Maybe, when you hear Trimspa, you think of Anna Nicole Smith, when she lost weight a few years ago before her death. As she pranced across the television screen, arms raised in the air to better show off her much improved body, she said over and over again. “Trimspa, baby.” A constant refrain of possibly the only two words she consistently managed to say without slurring.
Or, when you hear Trimspa, maybe you think of a spa trip focused on helping you lose weight. One with organic cotton towels and robes, organic fruits and vegetables, little meat and juice fasts—but in pill form, thereby making it easier for you to stick to.
Either way, no matter what your mental image is, you undoubtedly know that Trimspa diet pills are in the business to help you lose weight. But how do they achieve this magical feat?
Trimspa has been introduced on a couple of different occasions. The first time around, Trimspa promoted weight loss with the key ingredient ephedra. Ephedra, basically, is a stimulant. It works by restricting the amount of blood that can flow through your veins. This forces your heart to beat faster and your blood pressure to rise. This can result in increased metabolism and some weight loss, but ephedra had a very interesting side effect that concerned many in the medical community. Death. That’s right, one of ephedra’s side effects was death. As a result of this, the Food and Drug Administration decided to ban ephedra in 1994. This action sent the makers of Trimspa back to the drawing board.
Trimspa redesigned their pill and introduced a new, ephedra free version. Since Trimspa has taken all of the individual ingredients and mixed them into proprietary blends, they don’t tell consumers how much of which ingredient is in each pill or dose of Trimspa. This can be frustrating, especially when one is trying to guard themselves against any possible health problems.
Trimspa lists its ingredients as follows: glucomannan, cocoa extract, green tea extract, hoodia gordonii, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, glucosamine HCL, citrus naringin, and vanadium. As we know from other diet pills, green tea extract and cocoa extract are both stimulants. They both contain caffeine and can, because of the caffeine, increase your metabolism and speed up weight loss. But then, so can drinking tea or coffee.
One interesting ingredient on the Trimspa list is hoodia gordonii. Hoodia gordonii is a plant found in South Africa. South Africans have used it for years to treat indigestion. It turns out that it also works as an appetite suppressant. Unfortunately, it is not approved by the Food and Drug Administration. There are many reasons for this, but one of them is that Pfizer researchers found that it can damage the liver. There was not enough evidence to ban hoodia gordonii, but the Food and Drug Administration is certainly not promoting its use.
Here is some information on the other ingredients:
- Vanadium is a mineral found in some metals. There is no research to show that it assists in weight loss. It may be included in Trimspa as a mineral supplement.
- Glucomannan is a fiber and assists in weight loss by allowing food to be passed from the system.
- Sodium carboxymethylcellulose may be used to form the pill.
- Glucosamine HCL is found in shellfish and is said to promote joint health.
It is always important to meet with your primary care physician before adding any new supplements or diet aides to your routine. Often, diet pills and supplements contain ingredients that can be dangerous or may not interact properly with your other medications.
