Thermogenics

Thermogenics are supplements used to speed up our body’s metabolism and burn fat. The word thermo means heat, meaning that the thermogenics use our body’s temperature to achieve these results. Changing our body’s core temperature from its normal state causes reactions in us that can allow for our metabolism to be kicked into high gear and help us shed some unwanted pounds.

The key ingredients that are used in some of the main formulas are ephedra, caffeine and aspirin. These ingredients are known as the ECA Stack and they have been the most popular thermogenic combination used. Ephedra has become banned from the United States shelves due to people having serious side effects including heart attacks and even death. Some other forms of ephedra, such as pseudo-ephedrine have been used to replace the ephedra but can still lead to side effects and should never be used long term. Since the ban of ephedra, other ingredients have been introduced into supplements to try to imitate the same results that ephedra has on a person’s weight loss, although, none so far have been able to mimic the exact results.

Thermogenics, especially those including ephedra, have actually been found to lead to dependency and addiction. You get used to the bumped up energy and after a while you do not know how to function without it. Another problem with thermogenics is that your body can stop responding to its effectiveness and your metabolism can balance out and stop going on full speed. Therefore, many people increase their dosage to maintain the desired results, causing more possible side effects like high blood pressure and the risk of a stroke or heart attack.

Although thermogenics can work for the intial few weeks, the results will not be permanent unless you make some real lifestyle changes. You must eat a healthy diet and exercise to keep the weight that you lose off permanently. It is not recommended that a person stay on any thermogenics program long term, therefore forcing you to make some dietary and lifestyle changes to prevent undesired results once coming off the supplements.

When using thermogenics you have to prepare for the possibility of side effects, whether it is mild or severe. One side effect that is common among people using thermogenics is having a hard time getting enough sleep. Your body is running on high speed all day so falling into a long deep sleep can be very hard. Without enough sleep your body can turn against you and keep you from healing and losing weight. You are running on fake energy throughout the day and not getting enough real energy from sleep which can eventually catch up to you.

If you are looking to lose weight by way of thermogenics you may want to talk it over with your doctor. If you have any underlying health problems then it may not be the safest method for you. Since thermogenics are used to boost your body’s temperature to promote weight loss, then the best and safest way to achieve the same results is through exercise. By exercising on a regular basis you will be able to accomplish the same goal but through a much healthier way. Every time you workout you cause the same reaction in your body. You will elevate body temperature and speed up your metabolism.

Using thermogenics is an easy way to lose a few pounds but you will more than likely gain all the weight back very quickly once you wean yourself off the product. In order to lose weight you must have a mindset that you will work towards a long term goal and not look at weight loss as something that can be achieved immediately.
