The cabbage soup diet recipe

The cabbage soup diet is well known and many dieters have used this recipe to jump start their weight loss program. It is very popular with people today as it provides quick and easy weight loss and is very short termed. The diet should be used for 7 days only.  Once completed, a low carbohydrate, moderate calorie diet can be utilized for future weight loss. When combined with exercise, a person can keep the weight loss they have started and continue to lose as well if they want to.

The recipe for Cabbage Soup is listed below with the daily instructions that are to be followed while using this diet.

  • 2 tablespoons dried minced onions
  • 2 green peppers chopped
  • 2 cans 48 ounce cans of tomato juice
  • 3 Carrots chopped
  • 1 10 ounce can of mushrooms or 1 pint fresh mushrooms
  • 1 bunch of celery chopped
  • half a head of cabbage shredded or chopped
  • 1 package Lipton chicken soup mix
  • 1 can diced or pureed tomatoes
  • Season to taste with salt, pepper, parsley, curry, garlic powder.

Chop all the vegetables. Put remaining ingredients in a large stock pot then add chopped vegetables. Bring to a boil and then reduce to simmer and cook for approximately 1-2 hours. Serve. Refrigerate left over portions until ready to serve again. Remove your portion from the refrigerator and heat on the cook stove or microwave. Eat as much soup as you want each day along with the daily instructions of added foods below.

There is a regimen of additional foods that are allowed each day which can be found on the internet. The diet should be followed exactly as directed in order to achieve maximum weight loss during the seven days. It is very important to drink a lot of water each day or unsweetened tea in order to stave off hunger as well as to flush the body of any toxin build up or fats.

Some tips for this diet include eat as much as you can hold of allowed foods. If you get hungry between meals, eat a bowl of soup or drink a very cold glass of water if you get hungry before mealtime. This will stave off hunger. If you eat all you can of the allowed foods you should not experience much of this.
