Tenuate Reviews

A prescription drug meant to promote greater weight loss results when combined with diet and exercise, Tenuate has been used as a sympathomimetic amine. In other words, it falls into an amphetamine classification of weight loss products, stimulating the central nervous system, raising blood pressure and heart rate and therefore actively suppressing appetite.

It is mean specifically for short term use. You should not use it for extended periods of time as it can become highly addictive and cause a number of side effects in many ways similar to illegal amphetamines. By short term, we mean that it has generally speaking been used for a few weeks at a time only.

If you have medical conditions ironically related to obesity such as heart disease, high blood pressure, arteriosclerosis, glaucoma, have an MAOI inhibitor, an eating disorder, or a history of drug or alcohol abuse, you should not take this product. If you have problems with your thyroid, an anxiety disorder, epilepsy, other seizures disorders, or diabetes for that matter, you should not take Tenuate. So as you can see, Tenuate is available to only a limited number of constituents.

If you are taking Tenuate and you do qualify, you should take each dose twice daily with a full glass of water. Take Tenuate on an empty stomach approximately 1 hour before any meal to get the maximum results, and an evening dose could be used to fight nighttime hunger. However, it should be noted that Tenuate has also been known to cause insomnia. So it may not be advisable for nighttime use.

One should never take more than the prescribed dose as it will not be more effective. But it could innately be more harmful to the body and cause greater likelihood of dependency as well as serious side effects. If you happen to overdose or take more than the recommended dose, it may be recommended to seek immediate emergency medical attention.

In some cases, one might experience an allergic reaction such as difficulty breathing, closing of the throat, and swelling of the lips, tongue, face and hives. However, if you experience an irregular heartbeat, very high blood pressure, severe headaches, blurred vision, hallucinations, abnormal behavior, confusion, or psychosis even with recommended doses, you should seek medical attention.

Other more common side effects include restlessness, tremors, nervousness, anxiety, headaches, dizziness, insomnia, dry mouth, unpleasant taste in the mouth, diarrhea, constipation, impotence, or change in sex drive. These are common to most users.

If you can avoid using Tenuate, we would suggest doing just that. There are actually a few over the counter products that one could say would be more successful in actually promoting weight loss results, and realistically speaking, they certainly come with safer formulas and fewer side effects to say the least. There are plenty of other options, and the best option would of course be diet and exercise. However, of course, some still choose Tenuate.
