Slimming World's eating plan, called Food Optimising allows slimmers to fill up on plenty of "Free Foods", foods that are filling but at the same time low in energy density. These are foods like fruit and vegetables, lean meat and fish, complex carbohydrates, eggs and fat free yogurts. Slimmers are encouraged to follow a healthy, balanced diet by not only filling up on Free Foods, but also eating measured amounts of Healthy Extras -- foods that are rich in fibre, like crispbreads and cereals and calcium rich foods and to eat limited amounts of high calorie foods like chocolates, crisps and biscuits. To encourage healthy lifestyle change those following the Slimming World plan are also encouraged to become more active, building up to a regular lifetime habit of at least 30 minutes of activity 5 times a week. This doesn't mean going to the gym or an exercise class, it could be going for a daily walk or simply washing the car, doing the housework or intensive gardening. The key is that it is regular, sustained activity that gets people moving.
