Orlistat Reviews

Orlistat is the active ingredient found in the over the counter Alli as well as the prescription Xenical.  Basically speaking, they use half the dosage of Orlistat in Alli as they would in Xenical.  However, basically speaking, these products have become extremely popular over the past few years or so because of Alli’s introduction as the first FDA approved over the counter option that also is apparently safe because it’s FDA approved.

Let me tell you something about safety with FDA approved.  FDA approved, especially in diet pills generally means extremely dangerous. Actually, to be more specific, it generally means amphetamine based ingredients which can be highly addictive and damaging to the body to say the least.

So obviously speaking, that is a myth and a fallacy.  As far as advertising for effectiveness, we have serious issues with Orlistat.  The reality is that yes it still works in whatever dose they happen to work.  But for what is the question.  For what does it actually work?  It works to lower bad cholesterol when used over certain lengths of time.  But then again, you are eating a no fat diet! There is no reason to cut out any major food group, especially when it concerns good fats for one.

But as far as weight loss, we found that the studies showed that Orlistat users typically speaking lost about 5-10% of their body mass including some fat but not all fat in the space of a year.  That’s not very much weight.  You should be losing about 2 pounds per week or more if you’re overweight actually if you are dieting and exercising.  I heard of one star in particular who I won’t name losing 100 pounds in 9 months for his health, which was honestly amazing to me.  But he was determined.

Let’s say that you are 300 pounds.  Your metabolism should be amazing as we’ve seen on shows like The Biggest Loser for example.  So losing 2 pounds per week would be nothing.  5-10% of your weight would be about 15-30 pounds, which you could probably lose at that weight in about a few weeks on a healthy diet and exercise program.  So why does it take Orlistat users a year to lose that?

To be honest, you need fats, good fats, bad fats.  You need these fats, because they actually help you to lose weight and inhibit your weight loss efforts if you don’t have them.  In addition, there are essential vitamins that are fat soluble.  So if you don’t have fat or block too much of that fat, you will not actually be able to absorb them leading to potentially serious deficiencies!

As far as other results, well Orlistat is not ideal to say the least.  Orlistat scares us.  It has some very serious problems, not limited to things with weight loss.  They also have some side effects such as vitamin deficiencies of course.  But you can also find that you may have sudden diarrhea, need to wear adult diapers, diarrhea, you get the basic pictures.  It’s not pretty.  We would not recommend using Orlistat in any setting.

  1. With all the reviews I do not see anything on the Transitions Lifestyle System. It teaches about the Glycemic Index of Foods. So it teaches you the proper foods to eat not just on the fat content or calories. They also have suppliments that work without the nasty sideeffects of Orlistat. This program along with healthy exercise works!
