Nutrisystem Reviews

We have seen the Nutrisystem diet all over TV, and at one point we were so impressed with it. We talked to friends, and everybody could see that Nutrisystem was an improvement upon the old model. They were trying to be different than products like Jenny Craig, while other programs like Jenny Craig just recycled the same old stuff.
Now we can tell you what we did like certainly. They were talking about healthy foods, nutrient dense foods, and other foods that would help you to fight hunger. They were talking about vitamins, minerals, fibers, and everything else that any diet should be getting. They were talking about exercise! They were talking about helping you to make real lifestyle changes and get support online in doing that!
And most importantly, they were helping you to fit it into your life and actually make your own independent decisions. After all, let’s say that for example you’re on vacation. If you have something like Jenny Craig, you are in trouble! Unless you have the meals shipped to you, you don’t have food you know is “healthy.” And you don’t know how to make your own choices. So you mess up, you foul up, you go off your diet, and you gain back the weight in that short time.
Nutrisystem at one time did educate you enough that you could go out to restaurants, go out on vacation, etc and make your own decisions. You could look at calorie count on menus, and you could also see yes this has this and this kind of food and that is good for me. It was great.
But now we get into the current and modern Nutrisystem, which is not what it used to be. Now, maybe they realized that they weren’t making as much money per customer served. Maybe they realized that many people were too lazy to figure out advice and really just wanted the easy prepackaged meals even if they tasted bad, were expensive, or didn’t provide long term results. Maybe they realized a lot of things.
Either way, Nutrisystem has gone back to the old plan of using prepackaged meals and other ways to trick you into thinking for example that you can eat cake, because it can be healthy. Now of course their chocolate cake is low in calories, so you can. But when you go out, you don’t necessarily know the difference between the two!
As you can tell, we are not fond of the whole idea of using prepackaged meals and otherwise to diet. We don’t like the same old model. We like lifestyle changes, exercise, teaching new habits, and otherwise ways to ensure that you can keep this kind of plan up for the rest of your life to actually maintain general results. So we would not recommend Nutrisystem anymore, because they did not stick to the plan. They could have just charged more for the advice. But like anyone else, they have found it more marketable to make you dependent on their meal plans.
