Natural diet pills

By our very nature, human beings are impatient. Technological advancements arose strictly from our need to have everything, have it faster than we did yesterday, and have it immediately. This tendency to be impatient extends to every aspect of our lives, including weight loss. We now have surgery that can make us thin almost overnight, exercise boot camps that promise results in a matter of weeks, and natural diet pills that promise to supplement our effort to reduce calories and hasten our weight loss.

What is “Natural”?
Natural diet pills are sold by countless companies. They each have different ingredients, secret blends, and a whole host of exotic herbs from mysterious, untraveled lands. One thing that they all have in common are the words, “All Natural” printed on their label. While it may comfort you to consider taking an all natural diet pill, having those words printed on the bottle does not mean that the supplement you are about to ingest is:

  • Caffeine free
  • Organic (free of pesticides and toxic chemicals)
  • Safe
  • Healthy
  • Effective
  • Clinically tested
  • Approved by the Food and Drug Administration

When you see “Natural” on a weight loss supplement, it comes with absolutely no guarantee that it is good for you. There is no assurance that it is healthy and won’t harm you or cause unpleasant side effects. All that “Natural” means is that it is not an engineered chemical. It also does not guarantee that the ingredient itself has not been altered from its truly natural state.

Common Natural Ingredients
When you watch commercials on television for diet pills, or read their ads on the internet, you’ll notice the same ingredients popping up on pill after pill. Many of the popular, natural, ingredients popular in the diet pill industry today include:

Would you like to know what all of these natural ingredients have in common- besides that fact that they come from nature rather than a lab? They are all different versions of caffeine. Yes, caffeine – like you might find in coffee. Some, like Yerba Mate, have twice as much caffeine as a cup of coffee.

Many people and diet pills salesmen believe that caffeine can increase your metabolism and help you burn more fat. To an extent, this is actually true. Caffeine has a minimal effect on your metabolism and does increase it slightly. Unfortunately, a safe amount of caffeine has very little effect on your metabolism. It may make you feel like you have more energy, which may lead to an increased activity level. As your activity level increases, you’ll find that you burn more calories and accelerate your weight loss. It’s not a miracle though, it is common sense and you could probably get the same effect from a cup of coffee.

If you plan to be physically active, caffeine is probably not the best supplement ingredient for you to be taking. Caffeine does not actually provide you with true energy. Instead, it stresses your nervous system. This stress creates an energy like sensation, but is not healthy energy. Additionally, it could cause dehydration when you combine massive amounts of caffeine with a work out.

Before adding ant natural diet pills to your routine, be sure to talk it over with your physician. Find out if there are any negative interactions that could be experienced when you combine natural diet pills (especially those that contain caffeine) with other supplements or medications you are taking. You physician or pharmacist should be able to discuss any concerns you have and help you make sure you are on a safe road to weight loss.
