Lipocerin

It is unfortunate when clinical study results are used to help mislead consumers looking for a solution to their weight loss needs. In reality, many clinical trials involve different variations of ingredients in different combinations and different sources of extracts than the supplements that come out looking to cash in on a positive clinical trial. That certainly seems to be the case with Lipocerin.
According to its manufacturers, Lipocerin is a veritable miracle drug that will help you lose weight fast. The good thing about Lipocerin is that the makers admit you must exercise and eat less in order to lose weight. They tout Lipocerin’s ability to help you do these things—through the power of an appetite suppressant and energy booster within Lipocerin.
The star ingredients in Lipocerin are Phytopharm and Chromnium Picolinate, both of which have been favorable assessed in clinical trials. Phytopharm was studied in 2001 by British researchers. Another, more recognizable name for Phytopharm is hoodia extract. In the clinical trials, certain male test subjects were given Phytopharm for 15 days and others were given a placebo. Those who actually received the Phytopharm (a.k.a. Hoodia extract) ate fewer calories while taking it. Additionally they showed a reduction in body fat. The Chromium Picolinate was studied in 1999 in order to ascertain the effects of Chromium Picolinate on insulin levels in the 29 study subjects. Being a clinical trial, some subjects were given a placebo. After the 8 month study, researchers found that it had a positive effect on insulin sensitivity. There was no weight loss or fat loss found in the subjects, but their bodies were more able to tolerate insulin.
So, what does this mean for Lipocern? Is it actually a miracle drug from the Gods, ready to take away your weight loss struggles? Not so fast…you see, Lipocern does not disclose how much hoodia it uses in its proprietary formula, so you do not really know if it is the same amount as was used in the clinical trials. If it is a lesser amount of hoodia, it is more than possible that it will not have the same results or benefits as were found in the trial. In addition to that little nugget, you must consider whether or not the hoodia extract used is of the same quality as that used n the clinical trial. Hoodia extract from a different part of the plant or from a different variety of plant can have a huge impact on the effectiveness of the supplement.
Another ingredient whose positive clinical trials are exploited by the manufacturers of Lipocern is almond nut. Almonds have been shown to contain mono unsaturated fats which can help dieters feel more full and satisfied which naturally leads to eating less and, subsequently, fewer calories. It may be that the amount of almond nut in the pills is significant enough to affect your hunger levels, but it is impossible to know since the ingredient amounts are proprietary.
Should you decide that Lipocern is the right drug for you to try and tame your weight, be sue to have an appointment with your primary care physician prior to ingesting Lipocern. You never know how these pills and supplements will affect other medications and vitamins you are currently taking. Additionally, your physician may have more up to date information about clinical trials and problems with the supplement. While you are with your physician, be sure to ask him or her what type of diet and exercise plan you should enjoy while taking the supplement. That way, you cover all your bases and ensure weight loss.
