Detox body wrap

detox-bady-warp-compare_03detox-bady-warp-compare_05Body wraps have long been used in the fight against weight gain. Spas and weight loss centers offer many different types of body wraps using materials such as mud, seaweed and clay along with tight wrapping material and heat. One visit to a spa and you are bombarded with pamphlets extolling the cellulite-diminishing effects of wraps and the waist-reducing body contouring that wraps give. Detox Body Wrap is a wrap by Verseo and, while the product is different, the claims remain the same.

Detox body wrap is different from conventional wraps because it combines a detoxification of impurities along with overall slimming of the body. Generally, when one wishes to detox, they will go on a strict juice or fruit fast for days or weeks supplemented by various vitamins and minerals that help to cleanse the liver and other organs of bad toxins. Verseo claims that their Detox Body Wrap draws toxins out of the body that are stored around fat cells. All this while helping the user lose inches around their waist, hips, thighs and buttocks. No more fasts, food restrictions or hunger- simply apply the wrap and feel the toxins leaving you.

The Verseo Detox Body Wrap uses a special mixture of bentonite clay. They claim that some of the clay is natural sea bed clay and some of it is glacial clay, as in, from underneath a glacier. They’ve added amino acids (acids that create protein) and aloe vera to the clay. Verseo states on their website that once users apply the clay to their body, it immediately begins to draw toxins out. While it is true that clay can draw toxins out of the skin, chances are the clay does not get in deep enough to remove actual toxins from your organs and muscles.

The cellulite reduction and inches lost with the Detox Body Wrap come from a combination of the clay on your skin and the application of the wrap on top of the clay. Clay has a naturally tightening effect on your skin and Verseo claims that their clay repositions your fat cells during your hour long wrap session. This repositioning supposedly results in your body shape resembling the one you wrapped yourself into. There is no scientific evidence that your actual cells are being repositioned and most users find their body sliding back to normal shape within about three days. The official website for the product does state that there have been clinical tests that prove the effectiveness of Verseo Detox Body Wrap, but they do not make the published results available for review.

The site makes many other claims about the beneficial effects of the product. They claim that use of the Detox Body Wrap will give you softer skin, smaller stretch marks, and tighten any loose skin you may have. All of these claims are probably true for about 24 hours after using the wrap. Clay and aloe vera can soften and tighten skin temporarily and stretch marks on skin that has been tightened will appear smaller.

This product could be useful for a short term event. If you have a special weekend away or a reunion during which you want to look just a little bit smoother you could certainly take advantage of the tightening effects of the wrap and clay. You should not look to the Detox Body Wrap to help you with any long term weight loss goals. After use, there is generally no change in the weight of the user and this product is no replacement for the old fashioned weight loss solution of healthy eating and exercise.
