Body fat analyzer

Body fat analyzers are becoming very popular with people who either want to lose weight or those who are working with body building, weight training, or athletic programs. These analyzers are designed to help people to realize their weight loss goals. What people are learning is that all weight loss is not equal. It is much more important to know how much body fat has been lost than it is to know how much weight has been lost. For example, when a person starts a weight training program to assist with weight loss, they will lose weight more slowly than someone who is dieting alone. Why is this? The simple fact is that muscle tissue weighs more than fat tissue does. People who start working out are making and building muscle mass to replace the fat that they are losing. The muscle weighs more so they will not see the lose of pounds per se as someone who just diets limiting calories alone.

These body fat analyzers can help someone who is interested in losing weight and making their body healthier by gaining muscle mass by assisting them to see how much fatty tissue they have really lost. It is important to know what part of the body is fat and what part is muscle. BMI or body mass index is one measurement of the amount of fat that is contained in the body. The higher the BMI the higher the person’s fatty tissue content is. These analyzers help give a person a better picture of what is going on inside them by giving them an accurate reading on how much of the body consists of fatty tissue and how much is made of lean muscle.

There are several types of body fat analyzers that can be used. The dual energy X-ray absorptiometry or DEXA scan is supposed to be one of the most accurate methods of measuring body fat. This type of body fat analyzer is available in many facilities around the country. It uses the ratio of bone to muscle to fat to get its readings. One of the drawbacks of this scan is that it is expensive. It also requires someone be completely still for 20 minutes while the scan is in progress.

Hydrostatic Weighing is another type of body fat analyzer. This test is performed in a tank of water. This is said to be a very accurate test of body fat as well. The down side on this test is that you have to be able to expel all of the oxygen out of your lungs while you are submerged in the tank. This test is expensive to do as well.

Body fat calipers are another way that body fat can be measured or analyzed. This is done by taking measurements of the skin folds and using it to get the amount of body fat that is present. This test is the least expensive of all of them but it is also considered the least accurate.

Near Infa Red is another type of measurement. In this test a fiber optic probe tests the make up of tissues at various parts of the body. This test is simple and easy to do however it is not very accurate in nature either.

Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis is another type of body fat analyzer. This test consists of putting all of the person’s particular information into a computer then electrodes are placed on parts of the body. An electrical signal is sent through the body. The amount of resistance is measured and the findings are compiled from these readings. This test is simple to do, easy, non-invasive and pain free. It is considered one of the accurate tests as well.
